TV Stand Assembly

If you have purchased a new stand/cabinet for your existing or new TV to sit on I can assemble these for you.

Installations of Televisions on a Stand

My TV install service includes the following …

  • Checking your existing setup of TV Boxes (satellite, BT etc) and peripherals such as FireStick, Sound Bar etc. I talk with you about how you use your setup so I know how to setup the new TV best for you and if your existing peripherals are not compatible with the new TV I’ll discuss your options with you.

  • Testing your electrical socket to make sure the electrical supply is safe.

  • Install the new TV and your peripherals.

  • If you need any cables such as aerial, optical, HDMI or 4k HDMI I can provide these.

  • Connect it to your internet either via wired connection or WiFi.

  • Help setup TV streaming services and apps (whilst being aware of GDPR and confidentiality of information)

  • Demonstrate the new TV and how it works (if you need that)

Please note if you buy a new Samsung TV they require you to have an account before you can access any online streaming services. It is quite a simple process to setup an account via the Samsung Smart Things app. It will speed up the install a lot if you can have the Samsung account setup in advance.

TV Wall Mounting (Bracket not Included)

My TV Wall Mount service includes the following …

  • Checking the type of wall and bracket you have to make sure they are suitable to mount the TV on. I can advise on options to make things suitable if needed.

  • Checking for hidden obstructions in the wall such as metal pipes and electric cables. Observing all regulations about installing above fireplaces if that is where you want the TV to go.

  • Checking your existing setup of TV Boxes and peripherals such as FireStick, Sound Bar etc. I talk with you about how you use your setup so I know how to setup the new TV best for you.

  • Testing your electrical socket to make sure the electrical supply is safe.

  • If you need any cables such as aerial, optical, HDMI or 4k HDMI I can provide these.

  • Discuss options for hiding cables with you.

  • Install your bracket on the wall.

  • Install the new TV to your bracket and your peripherals to the TV.

  • Connect it to your internet either via wired connection or WiFi.

  • Help setup TV streaming services and apps (whilst being aware of GDPR and confidentiality of information)

  • Demonstrate the new TV and how it works (if you need that)

Home Theatre / Surround Sound Services

I can either add these services on to the TV Install / TV Wall Mount service as required and if the sound bar needs wall mounting as well I can do that if it comes with fixings or I can provide a suitable bracket for it. I will always make you aware of the extra cost of the parts before I use them.

  • First I check any existing setup to see how you use it.

  • I then test the electric socket to make sure the electrical supply is safe.

  • I will then commission and setup your sound bar or surround sound system and connect it to your TV and demo it working.

If you buy a sound system that requires an app such as Sonos then please download the app and setup your account in advance as this will be required during the install process.  If you are unsure of this then I can help with that too.

Useful Extra Info

It is worth noting that I try to prepare for every eventuality and there may always be the potential to hit a water pipe when drilling in to walls. This is especially true with modern builders using plastic pipes instead of copper. They are supposed to come with a metal strip attached to the pipe but unfortunately some plumbers and builders cut corners and don’t fit that. I ask where the main stop cock is. I’m never expecting to need to use it but it is good to know just in case.

To minimise the risks whilst preparing to install a TV Wall Mount I mark out where the bracket will be going and then do an exploratory probe with a bradawl before moving on to a small drill bit and then finally on to the larger drill bit that will hold the fixings for the bracket. I have never hit a pipe yet and this is all precautionary.

NOTE for people Renting property. You may to need obtain written permission from your landlord before attaching or installing anything on walls in the property. This should then avoid problems with your deposit when your tenancy ends.
